In February 2025, the European Commission approved Egetis’ Emcitate® (tiratricol) as the first and only treatment for patients with MCT8 deficiency and the Company is conducting a pivotal clinical trial to support the filing of a New Drug Application in the USA.  We are now on an exciting journey to establish our own teams for product launches in Europe and North America.

As a key extension of the Medical Affairs team, the Regional Medical Director (RMD) serves as a field-based clinical and disease state expert. This role is responsible for effectively communicating scientifically grounded information and gathering critical insights to support Egetis' products and therapeutic initiatives. The RMD’s primary focus is field-oriented, fostering meaningful scientific exchange that transforms Egetis’ clinical data into impactful discussions with Key Medical Experts and HealthCare Providers (HCPs).  

Egetis is building its launch team and there will be several roles filled in different regions of the country (Northeast, Southeast, West Coast and eventually Midwest). Roles are remote. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Medical Plan Execution: Drive execution of strategic medical plans for Egetis’ pipeline and future marketed products in the assigned region. 
  • Peer-to-Peer Collaboration: Build and maintain professional relationships with Key Medical Experts and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing. 
  • Clinical Development Support: Assist the Clinical function in clinical trials as relevant and facilitate investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and collaborative studies in compliance with guidelines. 
  • Medical Affairs Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders on initiatives such as publications, advisory boards, medical education, scientific communications, and speaker development. 
  • Scientific Communication and Insight Collection: Deliver presentations, respond to scientific inquiries, and provide updated medical, product, and disease-state information to the medical community. Gather and relay external insights to inform therapeutic area strategy and enhance clinical strategies. 
  • Patient-Focused Initiatives: Support patient-centered programs like Early Access Programs (EAP) and collaborations with diagnostic labs partners to improve the patient journey. 
  • Knowledge Development and Dissemination: Serve as a scientific resource at conferences and meetings, representing Egetis and sharing relevant findings. Develop a deep understanding of the regional healthcare landscape, including treatment trends and unmet needs. 
  • Internal Support and Training: Support training initiatives for new team members. Educate internal teams on therapeutic and scientific developments. 
  • Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to internal policies and external guidelines while maintaining accurate and timely reporting of activities. 
  • Communication and Advocacy: Maintain compliant communication across internal and external stakeholders. 

Qualifications: 

  • Advanced clinical or medical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA or equivalent) 
  • At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs or as a Medical Science Liaison, with a demonstrated track record of high performance in a field-based territory. 
  • Extensive and up-to-date experience in medical affairs or clinical development, with a focus on supporting therapies for rare diseases, including a strong understanding of KME and HCP practices specific to this area  
  • Proven experience working in small, early-stage organizations, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities involved in preparing for the first product launch. This role requires strong strategic, collaborative, and field-based skills to execute Egetis's medical strategies effectively and support the healthcare community through science-driven engagement. 
  • Understanding of legal and compliance considerations with a history of working compliantly within a field-based role and across a medical and commercial organization.
