Head of Medical Affairs, North America (Executive Director level)

As the Head of Medical Affairs North America, you will lead and manage the Medical Affairs strategy and operations to support medical studies, KOL engagement, and commercial launch. You'll provide leadership in executing North American medical affairs activities, advancing understanding of relevant diseases and Egetis Therapeutics products. Your responsibilities include building and overseeing the North American Medical Affairs team, contributing to the overall US and Canada strategy as a key member of the North American leadership teams, and reporting to the President of North America.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Team Leadership

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive North America Medical Affairs plans, aligning activities such as Early Access Program management, Medical Communication Platform, Medical Advisory Boards, Educational Programs, Training and Conferences.
  • Build an engaged and collaborative US Medical Affairs team by recruiting, training, and providing leadership to field-based to the Regional Medical Affairs team.
  • Ensure field-based medical teams have well-defined objectives, performance metrics, and collaborative, compliant relationships with other internal functions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Identify and cultivate strategic relationships with key external medical and scientific stakeholders, positioning oneself as a prominent ambassador for the company.
  • Lead the Patient Advocacy strategy
  • Collaborate internally with Clinical and Regulatory departments to ensure cohesive engagement with external stakeholders.

Scientific Expertise and Compliance

  • Develop and maintain the scientific and medical expertise of all relevant employees, positioning them as recognized experts internally and externally on Egetis products and related disease areas.
  • Lead the development and execution of scientific presentations, data gap analysis, evaluation of IIS proposals and grants, following the global strategy

Requirements

  • Higher-level degree in life sciences; MD preferred.
  • Substantial experience in biotech/pharmaceutical companies, including 6+ years with increasing leadership roles in Medical Affairs.
  • Prior launch experience required, (experience with direct experience with company first product launch is a plus)
  • Experience in supporting Regulatory for FDA submission.
  • Experience managing early access program is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in rare diseases.
  • Experience in neurological or endocrinological disease is advantageous.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in engaging external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
